Connecting Research, Policy and Practice

Despite progress in many areas over the last five to six decades, every projection of Africa’s future remains bleak:

  • 122 million more people could enter extreme poverty by 2030.
  • Malnutrition, malaria, diarrhea and heat stress is projected to kill 250,000 more people annually by 2050.
  • Up to 250 million people in Africa will be exposed to increased water stress by 2030

We conduct independent research to uncover the forces that sustain poverty and related problems, generate evidence for development and humanitarian policies and practice, and formulate and spread bold solutions that create lasting impact.
